This fund, earlier known as Reliance Long Term Equity Fund, underwent a change in fundamental attributes early last year to become a mida nd smallcap-oriented scheme. Managerial responsibilities have also changed hands, even though experienced fund manager Sunil B. Singhania continues to oversee the fund. The fund's track record is not healthy, and it has under performed many of its peers over different time frames. Despite leaning on the mid-cap basket, its exposure to small caps is higher compared to that of its peers in the category. Given the limited track record of the revamped fund's new manager, there is not much clarity on his execution capabilities. So, investors should stick with proven funds in this category.
